This blog aims to give unique insight into the work of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. It provides a place for our officials and ministers to communicate in more depth about what we do, what we’re trying to achieve and why it matters.

Our blogs will be written from the individual’s perspective. They will be written by ministers, ambassadors, our staff, and our stakeholders. The blogs will cover the breadth of what we do in foreign policy, trade and development, as well as our work in consular and passport services.

We want this blog to help us build networks and facilitate discussion to increase understanding and interest in the issues we handle. We also want to give more context and detail about how DFAT promotes and protects Australia’s interests internationally and contributes to global stability and economic growth.
